What is Express Entry?

As of January 2015, Canada has come up with a new electronic management application system and it is known as Express Entry. The program itself is new, and is supposed to facilitate selecting and processing of the economic immigration programs in Canada. The programs are:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program
• Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Canadian Experience Class
• And a portion of the Provincial Nomination Programs

How does the Express Entry process begin?

Express Entry starts when you make an expression of interest to immigrate to Canada. If you are eligible for the minimum of one of the programs then you will enter the Express Entry Pool.

By doing so, it will require you to create an online profile known as the Express Entry Profile. The profile will contain information such as:

• Language test score
• Your Educational Credential Assessment – but this is only if it is necessary for you
• Your work experience
• As well as other personal information- name, age…. Etc.

How much does an Express Entry Profile cost?

Nothing, the Express Entry Profile will cost you nothing to fill out, complete and submit.

What happens in the Express Entry Pool?

Once you are entered into the pool the Federal Government, Provincial Government as well as Canadian employers are about to select you. Is the new Express Entry better?

Well, for starters the new process is much faster than the old that’s for sure! This time the application processing time is only about 6 months from the day your completed application is obtained.
