Conditional PR Provision No Longer in Effect for Spouses and Partners Video
As of April 28, 2017, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that the conditional permanent resident status for all spouses and partners sponsored to immigrate to Canada will no longer be in effect. As a result, spouses and partners that immigrate to Canada will automatically have full permanent resident status upon arriving in Canada. This comes as a great relief to all spouses and partners that are arriving in Canada. These changes came into effect by the Liberal government to help spouses and partners that may be vulnerable when coming to Canada. Watch our video above on the changes to the PR provision for spouses and partners immigrating to Canada and what this means for permanent residents as a whole.
