What documents do you need to support your application?
Within the Canadian Business Immigration program there are several documents that you are required to submit along with your application.
To start, in order to be eligible for this class you will need to show proof of your business and/or managerial experience that you have. Included within this will be the documents that will show your net worth.
Some of the other documents that you will be asked to provide are:
- Travel documents and Passports
This will include your passport or any travel document that you obtain from your current country. You will be asked to showthe passport number or the travel document number, date of issue and expiry, your photo, name, date of birth and the place of your birth
You will be required to show that your meet the requirements of the language you will need in order to successfully come to Canada under the Business Immigration class
This letter will be given to you by whomever is going to be investing in our business proposalif this is applicable to you
- Identity and Civil documents
this is for both you and your spouse/common-law partner if this is applicable to you and your application
These documents will include:
- Birth Certificate(s)
- Marriage Certificate(s)if you have been married more than once you are required to include all of the documents for each marriage
- This section will also include any document that will show that you have changed your name due to marriage or for any other reason
- Divorce Certificates/ Annulmentsin the case in which you have been married more than once you will be required to show proof of any divorce or annulment that you have gone through
- Death certificatesthis will be required for any former spouse or common-law partner that you may have had
- National ID’sthis will be required for you and your spouse/common-law partner if it is applicable. This is where you would include your family/household registry or book if this area is applicable to you
- If you have a common-law partner you will be required to prove that the two of you have been cohabitating together for at least a period of a consecutive year. This can be done by showing: utility bills, leases, mortgages, joint bank accounts, or any other document that proves that you both have the same address and have had for the required period
Children Information
- this section deals with information that you are required to submit if you are planning to have your children come with you. This will include:
- Birth certificate(s)
- Adoption papersif this is applicable to you
- Proof of custodyif you are not with the other parent and this is applicable to you
- If your child/children is/are older than 19 years of age then you will be required to prove that they are dependent on you financially
Proof of Education Requirements
- this will be for you as the principal applicant
This section will include:
- Secondary education documents
- Post-secondary education documentsthis will be where you will show the proof that you have attended a post-secondary institution for at least a period of one year. You can include:
- Certificates/diplomas that you have obtained
- Transcripts
- Letters from the registrar at the school confirming your completion of at least 1 year
Police and Clearance
- You will be expected to obtain a police certificate/clearance for each country/territory that you have lived in for 6 or more months since the age of 18 years old
Photo requirements
- For every person that you are planning to bring with you through the Canadian Business Immigration Program it will be required that you all provide 6 photos for each member. On the back of 5 of the photos you will need to have the name, date of birth and the date in which the photo was taken for the appropriate person
Settlement Funds
- This is the section of your application in which you will provide proof of any funds that are readily available to you and are convertible currency for your settlement into Canada. You can show this by:
- Bank certifications letteras current and up to date as possible
- Proof that you have a savings balance
- Any fixed or time deposit statements
- This is also where you will provide and disclose the information of your assets and liabilities that you have as well as your spouse/common-law partner if this is applicable
Are there any other documents that you may need?
It is possible that you may be required to submit documents above and beyond what is listed here. It all depends on individual situations, so it is important that you stay organized and up to date with all of your information and documents, by doing this it will make this process easier for you.
