The Skilled Worker category is one of the categories of Provincial Nominee Program of Newfoundland and Labrador (NLPNP). The NLPNP skilled worker category nominates applicants who have special skills in a particular area and who can fill an employer’s current labour needs.
You are eligible for the skilled worker category, if you meet the certain requirements and those are following:
- If you have full-time job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer, and job letter specify your salary and benefits that meets provincial employment standards.
- If you have Citizenship and Immigration Canada work permit or you eligible to apply for it.
- If you have enough qualifications, training, skills, and/ or accreditation required for a job.
- If you can prove your intention to live in that province and ability to settle permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Your current job or job offer does not contravene existing bargaining unit agreements or any employment disputes.
- You also have to prove that you have sufficient settlement funds and financial resources to successfully establish yourself and any dependents in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Your present employer or future employer can demonstrate a need for your skill set.
- You also have to show that you have enough English or French capability to perform the employment duties. Your English language ability must be verified by one of the following:
o An affidavit of English or French Language Ability from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer who has offered you a full-time job ; or
o Education and/or training documents
o Occupational classified in NOC Code C or D will have to meet minimum language requirements.
