Improvement In Live-In-Caregiver Program

The Live-in caregiver program has been changed since October 2014. Citizenship and Immigration Canada has presented a modified live-in caregiver program. If you want to apply under the modified live-in caregiver program, you will obtain better opportunities and career options.

There are few modifications in live-in caregiver program:

The purpose behind those improvements is to provide more flexibility, more opportunities to foreign national caregivers.

Because of those improvements the qualify caregivers obtain two pathways which will lead them to permanent residence within six months.

The first pathway for live-in caregiver is that the live-in requirements have been changed. The child care caregiver does not have to live in employer home like before. This improvement in live-in caregiver program will eliminate the factor of workplace vulnerability and abuse.

Furthermore, the eligible caregivers will provide more different occupation in a health care and those are registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides, orderlies, patient service associates, and home support workers. All of those professions are also a pathway for qualify caregiver to obtain permanent residence.

The caregivers can get their work experience either in-home care or care in a health care by providing services to old or disable people. The application processing time period for the applicants in this stream is six months.
