Why Do We Call It Express Entry?
The Express Entry is an online and electronic system that manages your applications in regards to Permanent Residence.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada aim to have the applications for Permanent Residence processed within a 6 month time frame from the day the submission. For that reason, it is known as Express Entry. By having faster processing times it is thought to increase economic stability through immigration.
When Does The 6 Month Period Start?
It is very important for you to remember that the 6 months starts from the day you complete your application for Permanent Residence, after an Invitation to Apply has been given. The 6 months does not start from the day that you express an interest in immigrating to Canada.
When Did It Become Express Entry?
As of January 2015 the new and faster electronic applications system took effect and fell into place. It is a new way for the Government of Canada to manage all of the immigration applications at a faster rate.
