A Visitor Visa is a Nonimmigrant Visa that will allow you to enter the U.S. temporarily. There are a few reasons why you may wish to come to the U.S. short-term. Legitimate reasons you may wish to enter temporarily includes,

If you are visiting for business reasons and you are from a country that requires a visa to enter the U.S., you may do so for,
- Consulting with other business associates
- Attending a convention or conference
- Estate transactions
- Negotiations
The form for Business Visitors is Form B-1.
If you are simply visiting to see the country, tour, or visit, you will be completing Form B-2. Some specific reasons for coming could be,
- Vacationing

- Participation in amateur sports, musicals, etc…
- For short-term studying
To apply, you will complete the online visa application and print the confirmation page to bring to your interview. A photo will need to be uploaded in accordance with the photograph requirements that can be found on the U.S. Department of State website.
It is important to keep in mind what persons are not eligible to apply for this visa. This includes those who,
- Intend to study
- Are finding employment
- Wish to become permanent residents
- Work as foreign press, radio, film, journalists, and other information media
- Are arriving as a crewmember on a ship or aircraft
- Participate in paid professional performances
