This pathway was developed and intended for experienced business owners and/or senior business management who desire to reside in Nova Scotia. The requirement for this pathway is that the foreign national must establish a new business or purchase an existing business and is required to participate in the daily management of the business. Once the foreign national has completed one year of operating the business, they may become nominated for permanent residency in Canada.
International Graduate Entrepreneur
This pathway was developed and intended for recent graduates from either a Nova Scotia university or college. To qualify under this pathway, the recent graduate must have already established or purchased a business in Nova Scotia and have successfully operated it for a minimum of one year. Furthermore, if the recent graduate intends to reside and settle within Nova Scotia, they may be nominated for permanent residency in Canada.
Skilled Worker
This pathway was developed and intended to assist Nova Scotia employers to recruit and obtain foreign workers as well as recent graduated international students that have skills that are specifically required in Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia employer must hire foreign workers for the intended positions only if the intended position cannot be filled by a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry
This pathway was developed and intended to select highly skilled foreign nationals that desire to reside and settle in Nova Scotia permanently. In addition, the skilled foreign nationals must also have a high chance of finding employment in Nova Scotia’s labour market. For this specific pathway, the province of Nova Scotia specifically seeks for certain types of occupations to nominate the candidate. For this specific pathway, you must also be registered in the Express Entry immigration selection system.
Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry
This pathway was developed and intended to select highly skilled foreign nationals who wish to live and settle in Nova Scotia permanently. In addition, the skilled foreign nationals must also have a minimum of one year of work experience in Nova Scotia in a highly skilled occupation in either National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A or B. For this specific pathway, you must also be registered in the Express Entry immigration selection system.
