Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry

Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry

The Nova Scotia demand express entry program allows the province to select highly skilled individuals who want to live in Nova Scotia permanently and either have a permanent full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia employer or have the ability to attach quickly to Nova Scotia’s labour market.

The Nova Scotia Office of Immigration holds the right to consider only specific types of jobs and occupations for nomination in regards to the economic situation at the time. A nominee, along with his/her current spouse and dependent children under the age of 19 may become permanent residents. The candidates are assessed through a points system that measures a variety of things including education and language. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in the past 5 years and in one of the 29 skilled occupations considered in-demand. If the individual did not go to school in Canada, they must have their foreign diploma assessed by a designated body to find out its equivalency to Canadian schooling.
